TFC Hades H-04 Rhadamanthus Review

This is it guys, 4 robot, 2 more to go
This time we take a look of the 4th member of Hades which is TFC Rhadamanthus, based on Leozack character with its own lion-type breastforce.

Together with TFC H-03 Ceberus, this will form the torso of Hades and i can not stress out enough how important these 2 robots for any combiners toys. These 2 robots needs to have a solid build and strong connection in order to support all 6 members of Hades during combined mode.

Packaging
Still the same sturdy packaging box, and the robot is kept securely inside regular styrofoam. It also come with the standard instruction manual and a bio card. At this time, we can ignore about the instruction manual but it is there inside the box. We also received the breast force figure inside the box. In the case of Rhadamanthus, the breast force is a Lion-type form and it can be turn into a gun for robot mode
Additionally we have few screw covers also.

Presentation
I think the look and the presentation of Rhadamanthus is my favorite. The light green and white mix together well with a bit of gold and black paints to highlight the detail of the robot.
The plastic material also very good. Proportionally the robot just simply good looking. Inserting breastforce into the chest is only enhance the look and aesthetic of the robot to another level.
One more positive, i really love the face sculpt and the face expression.

Transformation
Rhadamanthus transform into a Tomcat jet fighter.
Just like a real Tomcat fighter, the wings can be moved forward and backward.
We do have a bit of clearance issue but not as bad as Minos and Thanatos. The landing gear of the jet mode is still lousy and i do think that this should not be the case for this kind of price range.

Once you transform to combined mode (which is the Torso) you can instantly feel on how well and sturdy the torso is going to be.
If i have to pick one major complain for this figure, it would be on the connector joint for the Hades's arms. TFC still uses this old combiner joint and we know for sure that once this joint is connected to the arm limb, you will not be able to lift the joint up. Hence the shoulder articulation for the combined mode will be very limited. I also don't like the wings folded behind Rhadamanthus legs

Articulation
Articulation is good for most part.
However, i do not like the individual mode shoulder joint.
I think this is the sacrifice that the company is taking to ensure that for the combined mode, the shoulder of the individual robot can be locked securely for added stability. But for most part, this robot still able to do lot of posing and no doubt that it is a very solid robot.

My Thoughts
Until the 4th robot now, i starting to appreciate the improvement that TFC is implementing on this line. I'm still dissapointed that TFC still uses the old combiner port and connection, and yes i still do not like the clearance and tolerance issue. But, i have a very good feeling that the combined Hades will be a good one.
I know that TFC is a big company, and i just read somewhere from the web that for their Poseidon combiner (Based on Piranacon) TFC will be using a brand new combiner connector and joint. I only hope that the new combiner will be more times better than the one that we have here.
But so far, i'm glad that finally Hades is almost complete.
Let's look at the 4 robots together now..and boy they sure looks great together

Combined Mode So-Far
2 more robots to go, and i thought i would like to share my view on the combined mode so far.
Combined together, Hades is very tall and imposing and the good news is, he is a very solid combiner (if you are still worry because you have bad experience with TFC Ares, i can say that Hades is much better than Ares)
Leg articulation is strong, thanks to the strong ratchet.

Combining Cerberus and Rhadamanthus combined mode is also a challenge and need quite a bit of force to push together so that both locked in securely. Once locked in, it will be very secure. I said it again, you have to use extra force to put both limbs together and be careful not to break any parts during the process.

Like i mentioned previously, i do not like the combined-mode feet, as to me, it looks very small. I hope that TFC will release an add-on feet part to make the feet looks bigger, or if the combined-feet add on will be included in the later 2 member releases? But so far there is no plan...

Just as we expected, the shoulder joint is not strong enough to bring the whole arm up. This is expected, but it is still unfortunate.

Meanwhile, while we wait for the last 2 robots, let's see how they look together so far :).

Cheers,
Epen
